Baby Boomer's Blues
02:55
|
|||
We're growing old together
and look how far we've come
and everything we have
it doesn't matter if it all goes bad
because we're not going to be around to see it through
We're growing old together
like simple grains of sand
how they've washed away
but that's a problem for another day
Because there wont really be a change for me and you
But that's not the way the world works
we should be happy with the things we have
and still be willing to give something back
we need to choose which side we will be on 'cause people still need to live here when we're gone
We're growing old together
how happy does it feel
to see our life's work
buried with us when we're in the dirt
and we could sooner drive
a camel through a needles eye
than be welcomed in the halls of heaven
but that's not the way the world works
we should be happy with the things we have
and still be willing to give something back
we need to choose the side we will be on 'cause people still need to live here when we're gone
We're growing old together
(But still have time to change)
we're growing old together....

Weeping Willow
01:52
|
|||
Weeping willow, weeping willow
wont you bend your branches down?
to cover all the thoughts and things that bleed the big come down
and I know its less a privilege, the shelter you bestow
to a boy who never learned to say no
weeping willow, weeping willow
how righteous you can be
to take away everything that makes a person free
and i know its less a privilege to keep the status quo
with a boy who never learned to say no
and I realize the habits that i have
time flys by and i just try to make the moments last
and i know its less a privilege and there's nothing you should owe
to a boy who never learned to say no

In An Instant
03:19
|
|||
It could happen to you
In an instant
What would you do if you lost your family now?
If you’re forced to be poor
Caught in someone else’s war
And the propaganda tells ya there’s a shining beacon on a hill
Would you look the other way and give up your free will?
It could happen to you
In an instant
What would you do if you lost your home now?
If you had no where to go
Would you set out on the road
With the loneliest of hopes
Leaving everything you’ve ever known behind you for another shot?
Could you find something inside you, that courage but can’t be bought?
It could happen to you
In an instant.
What would you do if you’re kids were starving now?
Would pack them up today
Trying to keep the wolves at bay
Cause there is no other way
But a politician says you shouldn’t cross an arbitrary line?
What would you do if it meant your children’s lives?
It could happen to you
In an instant

Constant, Constant
03:43
|
|||
If I could get, all these words and all these thoughts out of my head
I'd break this pen upon the back of every worthless thing I've said
If could have, all the wealth in all the world within my grasp
I'd pass it out between us so that no one would be last
but that's a heavy weight for anyone to bear
is it any wonder now and then why I might disappear?
or I might act strange?
when my only constant, constant is I constantly must change
If I could be, the me that everyone thinks I should be
I'd lead us to a promised land where everyone is free
but that's a heavy weight for anyone to bear
is it any wonder now and then why I might disappear?
or I might act strange?
when my only constant, constant is I constantly must change
They'll put up walls between us
but its simple enough to tear them all apart
we're all right here
its not just up to me
cause we all can lead
but that's a heavy weight for anyone to bear
is it any wonder now and then why I might disappear?
or I might act strange?
when my only constant, constant is I constantly must change

Defiantly Sing
03:56
|
|||
Here we are, throwing hope at the end of the world
weaving words in a flag to unfurl
trying to displace the swine form the pearls
once again, though we're not quite sure where to begin
and nobody knows who will win
trying to reclaim the world from old men...
These old men, wear the fear of their death like a shroud
and if they cant live they'll burn it all down
so that they wont be alone in the ground
because their fathers did not show them love (or their fathers before them)
or their mothers love was not good enough
so now we'll all pay for that rebuff
because you cant teach an old dog new love...
So, here we are throwing hope at the end of all things
and if we cant change the future it brings
we can stand and defiantly sing
here we are, throwing hope at the end of all things,
throwing hope at the end of all things,
we can stand and defiantly sing...

Lost Crusade
03:23
|
|||
If the distance makes you stringer, babe
then how come I feel so damned weak alone
I can spend the daytime half awake
and the night doing things i should have outgrown
but now I've got the chance to say
all I never would admit
and I know it's just words to you now
but I want you to know
That I, I got over it
There.s a San Diego Serenade
and a picture book of bittersweet regret
I've been searching in a lost crusade
for some crucial words that I ain't got right yet
but now I've got the chance to say
all i never would admit
and I know its just words to you now
but I want you to know
That I, I got over it
